Cartier W5200005 23mm Tank Solo Quartz for women

As a timepiece that is born under the name of the timeless classic Tank de Cartier collection line up, the watch does clearly showing its patrimonial design’s signature with its sculpted traditional lines. Simple and simply elegant. A dignified wrist accessory, if we may say. One that could compare JLC’s Reverso or maybe Calatrava from Patek with its own unique, charismatic charm that even those who are not enthusiasts could sense it.

Meticulously hand handled by the Paris based renown jeweler and watchmaker, this women’s elegant timepiece sports a sleek polished stainless steel case with ultra thin profile that is handsomely combined with a luxurious alligator leather bracelet in Black. It would be a medium size for lady’s average wrist, in which, its smoothly sculpted rectangular case measures 23mm × 30mm and 5.5mm thick only, while the bracelet that can accomodates up to 6.5 inches wrist’s circumference is around 17mm wide. For convenient fitting, this supple, fairly thick bracelet that is made of genuine alligator leather comes equipped with an adjustable deployment buckle clasp.

Side Angle. Typical to the most of battery powered timepiece, Cartier W5200005 has a solid caseback. The caseback is flat, lending a nice feeling that only this kind of watch could provides when it sits comfortably on your wrist. And at the case’s right hand side, there lays one of the Tank signature design elements, a Blue spinel cabochon decorated crown that is fluted to makes it easier to operates when you need to set or adjust the time.

Dial. Upfront, the minimalist face of this contemporary classic is topped with a scratch resistant sapphire crystal, a flat type, and it is further enhanced with an anti-reflective coating for an improved visibility. The dial is bright in Silvered opaline, and it comprises of two sword-shaped Blued-steel baton hands, painted Black italicited Roman numeral hour markers, and painted Black squared shaped minute markers around the inner rims. To maintain its well balanced layout, there is nothing more on the dial other than “CARTIER” marking at the 12 o’clock position, and a tiny “SWISS MADE” at the bottom of the dial. And for added peace of mind, the watch’s construction is guarateed to be 30m water resistant so that you can be sure that the timepiece wont be damaged by slight wetness, nor fog through time and use.

Speaking of the engine, this 23mm Cartier Tank Solo is ticking with the pleasing precision that is delivered by the Cartier Caliber 157. It is not an exclusive calibre, however, the 157 does considerably one of the most accurate and reliable Swiss quartz movement at its class. This fairly rugged battery powered movement is personally tuned by Cartier based on an ETA movement, containing 4 jewels inside, and it draws its power from a 315 Renata battery or alike. And regarding battery life, it can lasts for up to 3 years within a single battery replacement.

Whether as a timekeeper or wrist accessory, this classy timepiece is quite a satisfactory. The watch is elegant, with a "timeless" style that would remains stylish for years to come, and it does easy to be paired with a broad range of ensembles; casual to dress. It would be better if the dial has some luminous for an improved night visibility, but, as is, it does already delivers a nice degree of read-ability. The watch is offered at an original manufacturer suggested retail price of $2400.00, which if you ask us, it does worth for all of its elegance. For those who appreciate classical beauty, Cartier W5200005 would be without a doubt, a must have.

Anyway, within the Tank Solo collection line-up, there is also a larger version of this watch, the Cartier W5200003. It is nearly as slim as this version, but measures 27 mm × 34.5 mm, and is powered by Cartier Caliber 690 Swiss quartz movement. For him, maybe?
